This has been a great great week. With the changes at partypoker this week pokertracker has not tracked my results very well, so I have had to go through my account statements, to figure out my record.

As you can see I was very pleased when the speeds started running as I simply hated the slow regular ones (and my luckbox was useless in them). I will start a new chart and record my speed results in a new database as my results in the old ones is not very relevant anymore. Hopefully pokertracker will soon has an update which makes the recording of results easy again.

Party poker changes SNG structure

This might kill any plans I had to complete my VIP offer all 8 weeks. Partypoker has announced that SNGs will now have 10 minutes levels. There will also be speed SNGs with 5 minutes levels. If there will not be a lot of 5 min SNGs at the $50 level or those will be really though with mostly pushbot players I have no chance getting in 200 a week. Seat selection will no longer be possible which is bad for me as well as I have always been very careful to sit to the right of players with tight calling ranges and to the left of the passive players.

Goals week 7

Because of the partypoker VIP offer I have received I have to play 200 SNGs every week
to meet my goal. Thus this has become my goal for this week and the 6 forthcoming weeks.
It will be really hard as I have several papers due for the next few weeks and a lot of
olympic hockey games I want to watch.

This week was as brutal as a winning week could be I guess. I didn`t start out good and because of some serious lack of sleep the past weekend I got really emotional unstable. First time this year I have gone on any kind of tilt. I destroyed my ipod earphones, which sucked anyways, after a bad river. Took a break, played some nutbar at the .5/1 limit party tables (those guys are amazing as they actually leave the table when you come in and raise every hand preflop if possible.) Anyways my luck changed and I calmed down enough to finish the week on a strong note.

When I am losing I get extra motivated to play more games and that is the reason for my very high number of games played this week.

Week 6 goals

I hope to get in 150 SnGs this week. I do not think I will be clearing any bonuses. As I lost some confidence after my bad run last week I will start out 6-tabeling and reviewing at least 3 histories + interesting hands every day.

Only the SNGs was played in the month of February. I have never seen such a bad run of cards as I had in the first 80 of these SNGs. I think my ROI was in the high -30%s. Just scary, but I bounced back a bit in my last 30.

Goals for February

I will have to spend more time studing this month and with the Olympics coming up as well. I do not expect to play a lot. I hope to get in 5-600 SnGs. This will probably be most of my play as I had very little sucsess with the bonuswhoring last month. I will upgrade my ROI target to 8% as I did run at 10% last month which was well above my 5% target.

I will start the month 6 and 7 tableing depending on how focused I feel and hopefully be ready to 8 table at the end of the month. If I continue with my ugly ITM stats I will probably buy the Sit and Go powertools program to analyse my ITM game better. At the moment I am using a spreadsheet program that does the ICM calculations for me, but it does not work for 3-handed analysis.

Month of January summary

The final two days of January I was not feeling very well so I cleared some bonus and played 3 180 player 20+2 SNGs at pokerstars. Bonus clearing went terrible (again), but I won one of the SNGs for $1080.

My SNG results were 685 played for a 36.93% ITM and 10.42% ROI. Well above my 5% ROI target. I exceeded my goals by almost $3000, while playing less SnGs then expected. The reason for this was that I had to clear more bonuses than expected. The 180 SnG on pokerstars also helped the good results.

I am happy with my play. The play displayed from the other players at the 55s have been a lot worse than expected. My ITM distribution of 79-83-88 is my only concern and something I will focus on to see if I can find any leaks.

I am also a bit concerened with the huge swings I have been experiencing. I either run really well or really bad. I have tried compering hand histories from the different runs, but not been able to find any differences in my play. Hopefully its just some extreme variance and my results will be more stable for the next month.

My hourly rate from SNGs was $43.33. Adding about $12/hr from rakeback gives me a total of $55/hr which I am very pleased with.

Week 5 Goals

I have been sick most of this week so I am positing my goals very late. Hope to get in about 100-120 SNGs and do some bonuses. Will get back to my monthly goals tomorrow.
I guess what I am supposed to say is, thank you I'm OUUUUT!
